Silk care

With proper care, your Anitas Muse pieces will preserve their softness and natural sheen for years to come.

Dry Cleaning: We strongly recommend professional eco-friendly dry cleaning to maintain the structural integrity and finish of delicate silk garments.

Hand Wash: If hand washing, immerse the garment in cool water using a mild, pH-neutral silk detergent. Standard detergents contain enzymes that break down protein fibres. Gently agitate for 2–3 minutes. Do not wring, twist, or rub the fabric.

Wash colours separately, particularly Black on its first wash.

Drying: Press the garment between two clean white towels to remove excess water. Hang on padded hanger or lay flat to dry naturally away from direct sunlight. UV fades silk and weakens the fibre over time. Never tumble dry.

Steaming & Ironing: Steam gently on a low setting to remove creases. If ironing, use the lowest silk setting and iron on the reverse side while the fabric is slightly damp. Or use a pressing cloth between the iron and the silk.

Storage: Store your silk garments in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use padded hangers to protect the shoulder structure while hanging. Keep it in an Anitas Muse envelope if prefer folded.

Day to day notes

Apply perfume, deodorant and hairspray before dressing, and let them dry fully. Alcohol damages silk fibres and leaves permanent marks.

Treat spills immediately. Blot with a clean cloth — never rub, which drives the stain into the weave and disturbs the surface.

Silk does not need washing after every wear. Airing a piece overnight is often enough.
